im not sure about the male/female thing but i' pretty sure it means u killed someone....but then again i think someone told me it just meant that someone in ur family died..hmmm

I've heard this. Yes, supposedly it means something along those lines. It is usually done in prison. I think if it's solid black it means you've killed someone if it's an outline of one it means you have attempted murder, and usually to some rival in prison.

the normal meaning is; the tear or tears is in memoriam to a lost loved one. Everytime they look in the mirror they are reminded of that speical someone.

Yes, and I believe if the tear drop is colored in, it means you've killed several people, or killed someone while in jail.
