98% of 150 is 147, but that is a different matter entirely from the 98th percentile.

The 98th percentile describes the top 2% of people that are evaluated, not their performance on the test. Without knowing how the group performs on the test (and this will vary by group and testing-event) an answer cannot be provided.

It purely depends on how others have performed for that same exam. If the top 2% have scored on an average 30 out of 150 then scoring above 30 will see you in 98th percentile+.

Not to confuse you. It cant be said! But if you look at the historical movement. A decent score of above 120 is usually amongst the 95%ile. Try to be above 130 for safer grounds!

Best of Luck!

.98 X 150 = 147. You could also phrase the question "What is 98% of 150?" From there it will be easy to find the score you will need. First, 98% is changed to a decimal form, .98, by dividing 98 by 100. Next, the word "of" translates to multiplication in this type of percent problem. Good luck.

it depends on the standard deviation/variance. if you have that number, then you'd be able to calculate the z-score, or (150-x)/standard deviation = 0.98, and then find x
