Was it wrong for the manager to kick me out of the store?

Question

Sat while shoppiing at a retail chain store.

I went in to use the bathroom.

When I flushed the toilet I noticed a pair of womens panties on the floor.

They were full of crap. It was nastey. and I thought not my problem.

As I walked out, an employee was coming to clean the bathroom. She had a sign up out front, closed for cleaning.

I thought to myself, that lady is gonna have to pick up the
panties.

I went and got a cart and started shopping.

A women approached me and asked me to come with her. She said she was the manager. She took me to the bathroom and told me to pick up my dirty underwear and throw them away.

I said they were not mine, and I refused to pick them up. The manager said the women cleaning said you were the last person in here before she came into clean, and that the mess in the underwear was fresh.

I showed then a piece of my underwear to prove they were not mine.

Since I refused to pick them up I was kicked out of the store

sounds like its a shitty store to shop in , maybe they did you a favor by kicking you outta there.

but they were wrong for kicking you out and i personally would never want to give them business again, and i would spread the word about how rude they were to you, so that none of my friends would shop there either.
ps. what store is this anyway, cuz i really do not want to go there?

I'm surprised you have to ask this question.

Don't you realize that that store is beneath you? Don't go shopping there! Why didn't you just leave the store after you found open feces in the restroom?

My mom would've been very upset with you for continuing to shop there. Thank goodness the store manager put you out; don't ever go into that store again! Something worse than doo-doo panties in the bathroom might happen!

I believe you proved your case when you showed them a piece of your underwear. You should not have been kicked out of the store. I am sorry this happened to you.

Considering the circumstance you should be seeking an apology from the store. You were treated poorly, unjust & without any curtesy.
In my opinion you should lodge an official complaint in writing to the store management.

WOW,... I would definitely be calling somebody about that! She was way out of line by asking you to leave, and even more out of line by demanding that you pick them up. Another thing.... You should not have to show your underwear to anyone at anytime for any reason unless you want to. Did you get her name? I would definitely be calling her District Manager.

I say, report them. Get some district manager's phone numbers or report them to the Better Business Bureau.

Yes, they were in the wrong. Even if you hadn't produced your clean, being worn knickers, they still couldn't prove it was you. Maybe you should have for warned the cleaner of what you'd seen, it would've made you more believable I guess - I certainly would've.

Go to your local television station and tell them what happened.Tell them that you want the store manager to apology in public to you. Are you are going to picket the store and see what happens.The store doesn't want the negative publicity.On camera.

Don't go there again. You told them the truth they didn't believe you,and kicked you out the store. They don't deserve your business or any of your friends.

Thats a tough one,I would say you were wrong for not telling someone about the mess in the restroom,but they totally overreacted by kicking you out.
