Oh yeah... Hamsters lots of hamsters
Well as in I did have many years ago when I was in school
Not now.. LOL now.. I am ooooold..soooooo Oooold at 41 years...
But... as a freshman
I had a single room( kicked my Drunken PIG roommate out) and a habit trail system like disneyland...
I had a bunk bed so the main cages were up on it hidden and the tubes were runnig behind light covers all around the room... youd never know they were there!
They were all names after chemical elements since I was a Biology and Chem major.. Like Ambera Renee for the Chemical Argon AR
LOL Sad eh.... I was a pathetic pre med student at the time... total science geek.
All would have been fine .... til one got out and ran via the heating pipes and ended up in teh RA's slipper and of course she put her foot in and it bit her... Id have bit her too she was a snot
But anyway a door to door search went on at 6am to locate the owner and when they said they were going to toss poor hammie down the trash chute I owned up..
In the end I was told get rid of them or MOVE OUT
My parents were flipped out, as I was only a freshman, and already in trouble and for that.... since I told them I had given them to somebody, the hamsters... but I kept them! SO I had lied to my parents about it and that was not good since well even at 18 they still owned me and were helping with money for school... GRRR
In the end I gave them to a zoology major I knew and visited them everyday off campus.. I was at school 8 hours from home... was not allowed to live off campus and had parents who were,..well less than thrilled with me... Frankly gieven that the drinking age was 18 back then.. getting caught with hamsters was pretty innocent in my eyes... compared to what I could have been doing!
But it was ok in the end.. they were good and I was still in school... and of course felt much better after I squirt vaseline in teh RA's slippers the following week... she was such a BiT**
No sense of humor!
I moved dorms the next semester... LOL wonder why?
So yes I had pets.... got caught and survived it
LOL
If you have something good luck.. TRUST no one with telling them you have them though... drunk people talk!!!!!
Also if you dont have them yet and are only thinking of it...
Just dont... Not worth it.. you will prob get caught.. dorms.. no privacy and I tell you the walls have ears... That has not changed over the years,, although living accomodations seem much better than when I went to school...
Good Luck!

Stick Insects! They are very cool and interesting, also relaxing, and the furnishings like eucalyptus leaves and such will make the room smell nice! You can get large ones that are thorny in appearance and have orange, autumn colored bodies! Also I understand you don't want a fish, but seriously, try an axolotl (Mexican walking fish) you will be sure to have the most funniest looking pet in the whole college! And a type of rodent, I'm afraid they pretty much all give off a odor. Rabbits need large hutches and they poo a lot (from my experience) Rats and mice are small and fun, but in a small room, the smell will appear larger and will be unpleasant, ( as I have a only 1 rat and clean the cage almost out every day but it still reeks, even with the window open) I can't think of any other rodent except a ferret, but they deffs won't be aloud as they bite and have terrible odors. That's all I can say really, hope I have helped! :))

Yeah I had pets in my college dorm that I wasn't supposed to have. I had 3 hamsters one year, then a few years after that I had a rabbit. My then boyfriend, now husband, bought me a rabbit to keep me company while he was away at school. I never got caught with her, and she even ran around my room and was out of her cage all the time. It was sorta exciting, lol.

I had two squirrels, my room was on the ground floor the dorm was set in a park-type landscaped setting. The squirrels actually lived in the tree outside my window. They became so tame that they used to come in through the open window and eat nuts that I bought for them, sometimes they would stay in my room curled up in my dressing gown, if they heard a knock on my door they would be through the window like a shot. I missed them after I left, and often wonder if they made friends with the next occupant of my room..

Yep! Kept a snake in my dorm, kept it under my desk behind a curtain so the cleaner didn't find it!
My girlfriend at the time kept rats, she used to let them run around the room all the time, but they did quite a bit of damage. After we had moved out we found the college were condeming and demolishing the building due to a 'suspected rodent problem'! Never did find out if it was due to just those two girls and their chewing!

Yup I have a cat named Victor Studapop and he was a mean *** devil that broke every picture frame in my room. I loved him and he helped me get over my home sickness. Never got caught but my roommate took him back home with her so I lost my pet :( It's ok now cause i own my own home where I share it with my beautiful two year old cat named Puss Puss!!!
