I have studied about the world politics, economy, religion, social relation structure, technologies e.t.c., and realized that the only attempts to solving world poverty problems have been based on sentiments: pitty, alms, gifts, donations, charity, grants etc. All these are great ways of helping (which should be encouraged), but have a way of tranforming the receivers to be dependent, most times, forever. These options are not, at all, sustainable because the givers, too, get frustrated. So, solutions to the world poverty problems should be that that is sustainable and capable of elevating the poor (recipients) to almost instant independence. As we've always been innovating new technologies, we should always keep innovating new and sustanable solutions to the world poverty problems. The world will trully become a global village if we stop the lip-services and sentiments. We need a more radical approach, thinking out of the box. Best regards as you all answer sinserely.

We made all housing unaffordable to poor people and so the rich moved in, no more poverty, unless you count my pool being smaller than the Jensons, three fields over, but then I( throw more away after every BBQ than they ever have, which makes things even.

In the words of Sam Kenison "You live in a fricken desert, move out of the fricken desert"

When you dissect that statement you can find the heart of the matter. People get addicted to the hand outs it is easier than getting up and doing for yourself. The working poor are the ones that need assistance. The idle poor, well, got no time for that. Those that abuse the assistance, should be shut out of the system.

there is poverty where I live due to people spending all their money on meth. The children are not cared for or fed properly. These people don't want a job, they just want meth, and will steal, sell it or make it, for money to buy more of it.
Another problem is illiteracy. Poor jobs because they cannot read or write or fill out a job application.
I don't know how to stop the drugs. Schools are supposed to be "leaving no child left behind" as far as reading and writing. I hope it works.

the solution in my area is affordable housing. peopleare on the street because they can't get a job because they don't have an address, because they live on the street. Its a vicious circle worldwide, though, I think that free schooling for the poor and orphaned children is the best idea, with free meals and medical care, while going to school. if I ever won the lottery, that's what I'd spend much of it on. New schools, orphanages with gardens and barns and good medical care

where i live, we are in desperate need of more work and employment opportunity. Alot of places where you can work, they purposely keep you hours so you cannot qualify for insurance or any kind of benefits.
