i think buying them a star from the international star registry is a good idea, you can name it after them and it will forever be their spot in space. you can even have a picture of it and a map framed with a little certificate thing..

Read the "Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman. Then you can determine your partners love language and give them their ultimate gift. Although Walmart gift card sounds pretty good too. But my love language is gifts so I guess that would work...
