Yahoo has an article (in the news on the front page) about the videogame called "Bully" that you might want to look into....
Good Effect:
It's a hobby - keeps kids occuppied and entertained in an inexpensive way.... drugs and violence are less common among video game afficionados....
Bad Effect:
Loss of motivation to do "real" things.... a day in the park just doesn't seem fun anymore.... less social skills and more isolation.
