sounds like a test question or an essay.
The implications are caring for the sick, injured, all in need of medical care by a licensed nurse who has attended a certified school of nursing accepted by the state in which she chooses to practice.
One of my instructors told me it is caring for people who are at their personal worst. It is true. Sick people are not too cheery. It is very hard work and you must be able to juggle many tasks at one time and make snap decisions.

i'm assuming your asking the nurses role for today....

depends on what area of healthcare they are working in:
-home health
-nursing home
-hospital
-forensics
-law

most hospital, nursing home, or home health nurses are responsible for total patient care. this means administering medications (by mouth,i.v,injection,or through feeding tubes), assessing the patient for pre-existing or new injuries or illness, dressing changes, bathing, monitoring vital signs (blood pressure, heartrate, respiratory rate) and calling the doctor for any sudden changes that he/she feels could harm the patient.

in forensics and law-nurses are responsible for collecting medical evidence that will either support or go against a person's complaint during a medical lawsuit.
