I own a small business and I sometimes get requests like that. I've never responded, but I WOULD respond to one that didn't look like spam. Tell them how you found their company and specifically what you like about it. I always delete them because they refer to my "product" and it's obvious they have no idea what the product is. Tell them specifically how you think you could help them make more money. Good luck!
