Here's the situation: A good friend owes you $100 for almost a year. You live in a different state from your friend. Everytime time you bring it up, they say:

okay I'll send it and then nothing comes

they say next week, and when next week comes, they say awww come on

they say its in the mail, then a week later say the envelope got delivered back to them for some mysterious reason

you keep asking for it, and they say, its only $100, stop being like that, you're going to get your money...

what would you do?

I would not expect to get it back, if they make excuses like that they probably cant afford to pay you back and they are hoping that you will eventually give up

I would keep after your "friend" until you get paid. I payed my best friend $2,000 to finish my house and he went out and bought a motorcycle the next day. He never worked on my house again. This is 3 years later, and needless to say, he doesn't come around anymore. I was stupid for trusting anyone with that much money, but best friends are supposed to be trustworthy. I am still very hurt, since now he moved away and I know he'll never pay me back. Lesson learned...)(

A similar situation happened to me. I ended up telling my friend that i needed to have some work done on my car and that i really needed the money back since money was tight. I know you shouldn't have to make excuses to your friend but sounds like they are making excuses with you about the money they owe you.. I would say the same thing.. Aww "come on stop being like that" AND PAY me back!

Kiss it good bye. Perhaps if you are going to see your friend, you could ask to borrow calateral. Having something in which your friend will want back helps prioritize repayment. I would charge to ship the item back. I do know that good friends are not even remotely worth losing over $100, so think about what you are going to say and do very carefully. I would lend anymore money out to this friend. Good luck.

I'd say enough is enough either I get my 100 bucks or My other friend Rocko will be at your doorstep at 4 in the morning to either collect or break your legs And be very direct with them

If you treasure the friendship, never lend money to friends ! Once lent, you expect you may have to write it off ! and you know what kinda friend you had. Alas, too late ...

ask your self this guestion.......which is more important to me $100.00 or a good friend ? .....Then if its money take it to small claims court, if its a good friend then forget the money and don't ask for it again.
