As long as the NAACP is around, it will always be a crutch and an excuse.

Racism in this world goes beyond black people as you say. We don't need to group anyone together or center a group out, when you do you just add to the "us and them" kind of mindset. We are for the most part individuals and as long as that mindset is around, racism is not just an excuse its a reason. Do the best to deminish racism and you deminish the validity of the reason.
Not everyone uses the past as a crutch. The same people who do are probably the same kind of people that are going take advantage of the system in any way they can and blame their problems on everything and everyone else.
p.s. I have not decided whether it is best to think of everyone as completely individual or everyone and everything together as one. I am pretty sure if you go in the middle somewhere that more problems occur. Where should you draw the line? I think it better to not draw a line, but to go to an extreme.

I think both race should just stop with the racism thing, but obviously thats not gunna happen. When a white person insults a black person, they automatically say its racist, but when a black person insults a white person, nothing really happens. so, in my opinion, i dont think that racism will ever end, but the only people who use it as a "cruch" are the ones who wont accept others for being different.

Truth is, there's always gonna be someone in a racial group that holds on to the bad past of their people, it's not the way to live but it's life. But I think the real question is will ANYONE let racism end? One race is not responsible for racism, people in different races are responsible for it. There is no real answer for this question because it's so irrelevant. I surely would like to think ALL black people could forgive what happened and not use it as an excuse, because that is what it will get us foward, but... it won't happen in my time.

WOW! I admit the plenty of people overuse the race card and YES racism is STILL out there. Black people will let it end when it ..guess what....ENDS! Thats like asking when will Jewish people forget about the holaucost or Native Americans forget that their forefathers were brutalized, tortured and moved into reservations.
Racism occurs among all races. Maybe the better question is when will all people stop judging others by their skin color. Or when will certain people get off their lazy butts and stop blaming others for their lack of ambition and success in life (ALL RACES).

Not all "black" people still are stuck on it and those who are have a good reason to be. I find that the younger ones ended it but the older ones didn't and I think it's because either they were around during those times or their parents were. Oh, and sometimes people make it hard for them to move on when racism is all around them.

Time will tell. Most whites that I know don't hate any groups, black, white, green, purple, yellow, or red. I know I see the person not the group, but if you use that you are a part of a group so you should be treated better than me then I don't like that. Should I feel better than others just because my IQ is higher than them? Should I feel like I should be treated better just because my IQ is lower? Think on that.

First of all, how are they using it as a "crutch"? Secondly, racism is still rampant. Whether you are black or white it's still a hot issue, it's not going away any time soon.

I would love to think that they have moved beyond that, but I live in Memphis, TN and they continually ask or depend on others to get them through, because we owe them???!!! I was not even alive then and I owe them something? I understand and have been taught what they went through, but I cannot pay someone back for something I did not do or participate in. Is it not time they stop yelling?? What about the Indians, they are still being discriminated????!!!

Conservative blacks want to stand on their own. Lazy ignorant others want the crutch of blame for the past to hold them up. All are not the same.
