When beet juice (and a lot of it) leaked onto my brand new light beige carpeting, I mixed powdered Oxy-Clean with hot water and soaked the area. The red stains just disappeared!! I was so impressed I took the product to work and showed my co-workers how it removed old coffee stains off the carpet. I really do believe in Oxy-Clean.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear about your carpet! I had the same thing happen with wine on my carpet! I surfed the net like a mad woman, but nothing worked. I finally tried the colorox bleach pen. It took the stain right out!

I paid about $4.50 for mine, but I was surfing the freebies today and I saw a link to get one for free!

Good Luck!

If it just happened blot it and get an oxygen based spot remover or one that specifically says it will remove red. If you can't spot treat it right away keep it from drying. Add small amounts of water and blot, keep this up as long as you can then cover it with a damp towel to keep it from drying until you get the spot remover - as soon as possible. It isn't easy, good luck. If it has already dried try for a spot remover that says it removes red and just keep trying.

assuming red wine.
blot it up as best you can
try oxiclean mixed with water...lot of oxiclean. squirt on stain...leave for a few moments.
gently scrub as you don't want to make it worse.
blot dry.

an alternative is to spray RESLOVE (buy at hardware store OR grocery) carpet cleaner on the stain...rub in, blot, repeat as needed.
Resolve has oxiclean in it now.

Either method usually works if atain is not very old. good luck
