In my shop I charge 60.00/hour this is a 4 hour job and the pump runs around 150-200 depending on where you buy it.

If I remember correctly, these had weld spatter pieces in the tanks and were a problem for the pumps. I'm guessing the labor in the 400 range plus parts. It is a good idea to have someone look (crawl under) at it to see what kind of rust exists, because this can change the entire job, etc.

I think the part is only $50-ish, but labor is usually $50-ish per hour, with a minimum of an hour. I'm not sure how labor-intensive a job it is. Ask the shop that diagnosed it what they expect the cost will be. By law they need to give you a quote and get your permission before they can start work.

I'm not sure about the labor because I did it myself. The fuel pump for my 1994 Ford pickup was 185.00 at Auto Zone and it took about 2 1/2 hours to replace it.

You have to drop the tank. I don't know how much is charged to clean it, have not taken it in yet.
