In Canada in the summer I burn and peel easy. But in Thailand where it's sunny and hot everday I don't?

It's like the rays are more powerfull in Canada....however Thailand is closer to the equator...

Why is that?

Remember that the ozone layer is very thin near the north pole.
Therefore, there are more UV rays hitting your skin then in Thailand.

Actually the sun beams are stronger in Canada because the farther north you go the less ozone layer is protecting you. In fact over the northern ice caps there is no ozone because of pollution.

Are you in northern Canada? Due to the holes in the ozone layer, there are more UV rays (which cause sunburn) closer to the poles.

I agree with you. I got really dark the summer I spent in Canada a few years ago, even darker than when I've been to places like Italy and Greece. Not sure why.

thats because you're wearing more clothes in Thailand and the sun is further away during hte luner months of Capricorn

ok, i made that up - I have no idea. maybe Canada has better tanning beds - they spit our more juice.
