Generally men to women, but this is not always the case. Some men are very aggressive and bully their significant other. This can happen the other way around but not as often. I don't think race plays into this question but culture can affect it too. Some cultures still see women as the submissive gender and they don't get the respect they deserve.

I think it might be just as equal, except it's the TYPE of violence we're talking about. Men of course it's the physical abuse, the beatings and raping. Women it's the emotional abuse, and the FINANCIAL abuse, taking both the kids and the money, or burning the guy's house, clothes, and sometimes his man-hood down on cheating or hell just pissin her off. BOTH PARTIES pretty much are bad on the cheating. And there's a number of other abuses, but like i said it's most likley equal, just different in types of abuse. Race it really doesn't matter, it happens with any color really. Maybe just reacted to a bit differently, but the results remain the same.

For white Americans, I'd say it's equal. Different cultures generally cast the male as the aggressor. But for us white folk, the men have been whooped and the gals are tired of taking our crap. Also, some of the other folks are like us. I'm just speaking in general. The strong Latino man. The proud African man. The strong Japanese man. The brave Native American man. White man used to dominate, but we (along with some of our other ethnic friends) have found out that women can get mean too and have opted to pacify them instead of fight them. Makes the night go by better. :)

men are definately more violent to women then women are to men.
But the surprising thing is, most men who are violent are raised by just their mother. So does that mean women create the violence in men, or are we just geared that way?

I'd say its common for the guy to be thought of as the more aggressive one....but I truly think females carry their share too. We can be very hurtful and mean, its just that guys dont always have the balls to pout and admit that we are being mean like we do to them. I hope that makes sense. And I agree with the person up there that said that woman are also not as reported as much either....cause what guy wants to go to the police to say that a girl beat him up...lol ;D

Aggression is an acquired trait. If a woman is shown aggression and has no assistance...she has the same propensity for violence as a man. Males tend to be more aggressive as the role they are given tends to warrant such behavior. Race and culture are another variable that can only be a determining factor if an individual alows it. Aggression and violence are a way of life for some...It all depends on the circumstance....

There is not a black and white answer to this question. It has many variants. Culture, parental teaching, values and morals to name a few. Unfortunately, I think agressiveness is more pervasive in males

Men to women. Definitely, there's no arguing on that. Men are physically stronger.
