You can google search for copywriters in your area, or look in the phone book. A "poor man's" copyright is to take your music, mail it to yourself, and do not open the envelope. The post date on the envelope will serve to show when you wrote the music.

The first and easiest step is to mail it to yourself registered mail and don't open it. The postmark sets the date and since it is through the mail it is a federal stamp.
Then get yourself a copyright lawyer and go from there.

send yourself a cd or dvd etc for postal verification or contact the Library of Congress
they will keep a copyright if u pay a small fee for the forms and service.I 'm sure there are other ways like notaries and legal beagles?
