If you really want to know, for real, read books by Syvia Browne like one called the OTHER SIDE AND BACK. It will open your eyes and educate you.
When your body dies you soul goes to the other side (heaven) where you review your life and then learn more things you need to know so that you can be on a higher plane. There are many different levels and each level depends on how much your soul has grown (to be more like God). Yes, it is beautiful, and you are with your loved ones and friends and animals but you will still be learning. And no you dont get to eat, you dont need food there. Your soul is endless. That energy was formed long ago. You keep electing to come back to earth for growth. If you are an old soul you have lived many times on earth where a young soul has not.
Never fear death. We all die but our souls never die they just move to a different plane. We follow the bright light back home and are first greated by every pet we have ever loved. Then your family and friends. It is a joyous reunion.

When you die, all your good deeds that you have done in your life are added up. If the number of good deeds is greater then your bad deeds, then you go to heaven. If the number of good deeds is less then your bad deeds then you go to hell. If the numbers are even, then you are sent back to Earth as a ghost in order to right your wrongs, or wrong your rights. For those who don't have a religion, when you die, you simply enter a dream that you cannot escape/wake out of.
