Without struggle nothing would gain strength. Without strength nothing would survive. Determination is the drive that got you to this point in your life. The struggle you experience along the way gives you a clear view of life's value.

We are lost because we have not found the way.
Life is a constant struggle because we have desire.
Find the way, and free yourself from desire, and life will occur of its own accord.

"We" being the relative affulent....are "lost" as we've come to distrust and suspect one another. Micheal Moore's "Bowling for Columbine " speaks volumes to this question. We've equated "success" with capacity to accrue more material than we can use...while ignoring the real basic and dire needs of our fellow humans. Ensuingly our humanity and the tenents of civilization wane. We live in close physical proximity to one another yet identify not....We think thier end of the boat is sinking...We have little capacity for cash register honesty, to say nothing of introspective honesty...We believe that "Image is Everything"...and we imagine that we have enough power to manufacture happiness...that avoiding our experience is preferential to feeling the entire gamut of emotion. Our institutions fail us ;medicine is all about sickness, not health..laws are about money, not justice, and religion is about social cause , not spiritual growth.
In short, we've chosen to "be lost".....lost to one another ..lost to ourselves. And no thrill or new thing can fill that hole within.
A mustering of gratitude and a quest to be useful ...these pave the way from the quagmire. But then again, you didn't ask about that.

I'm not lost, and my life is not a struggle.
You need to accept the fact that life is not a vacation, though.
Try being more optimistic, and look for "silver lining" even in the struggling parts of your life. :)

As Buddha explained, whole life is a suffering and it is the nature of life. To get away from struggle, attain Nirvana!

This is an excellent question. I feel that what defines people most is how they handle being lost. Do you stop and ask directions (from someone probably as lost as you are)? Do you choose one direction and keep going even if it's wrong? Or do you lean the seat back, turn on some good music, and cruise?

Why do you choose to beleive "we're lost" ? Sure struggles come up, but they're learning experiences. Time for growth, show em what we're made of. If you choose to curl up and die, or to make bad choices, so be it...
Only you can change your attitude. Figure out the real reason you wrote this...

Come on. Don't you have moments where you feel like your 10 feet tall and bullet proof. Other times you feel as insignificant as mud. Our emotions give life meaning. And challenges met are part of self fulfillment. Nirvana would be boring (though I wouldn't mind visiting once in a while).

there are no guarantees in life, not even that you'll see the next day. What we have is the opportunity though, the opportunity to find whatever that makes you happy. love, food, poker, or whatever. its still beautiful down here, and theres no other place i'd rather be
