My aunt is a professional quilter. What she does is nothing like what most people think quilting is and is actually very similar to painting.

She does seminars all over the world and is interested in teaching in Japan but has been unable to make contact with any quilting groups there. Does anyone have any contacts for this sort of thing? Thanks.

You don't mention where she is right now..but if she is in Japan. ask her to visit the community centers or any city halls that has complete list of quilting clubs in Japan or any prefecture, I know a professional quilter, she is married to an actor.. she does all quilting and has her own shops and teaching seminars in Japan as well as quilt shows on TV.. her name is Cathy and sometimes appear on TV shows, as I remembered,,I am not living in Japan now, but I used to see her works on TV before. I think your aunt can find lots of quilting groups around Tokyo..especially if there are any cultural events or family affairs on school or community..some quilt works are on display.

If you rely Japanese born and registered folks, Koreans and Chinese might be most sensible two. Then the folks from Brazil, Philippines and Peru come. If you incorporate one hundred-one hundred fifty thousand Chinese scholars who research in Japan, Chinese might be No.one million. However, the registered foreigners are round two.two million and the populace in Japan is 127.7 million. This manner greater than ninety eight.two% are Japanese. This is why the society is referred to as homogeneous, mono tradition and not more racial range. Other East Asian nations are near sufficient. ninety eight% of the populace in Taiwan are Han Chinese descent. Nearly one hundred% is Koreans in Korean peninsula. China says there are fifty six ethnics. But ninety two% are Han race and the reputable language is best Mandarin (Chinese). Some ethnics are banned to elevate their possess flags. So I'd say China may be much less racial range and homogeneous.
