My brother has a DVD drive and CD-R drive from his HP computer and he isn't using it. He switched those hard drives with his old computer's drives. Now I am wondering, my computer (Compaq Presario) lacks a DVD drive and I sometimes wanna watch dvd's on my comp....can I put the HP's DVD drive into my comp? It has a missing spot where I can hook up a drive. Is this possible?

HP.... Compaq.... Dell.... Gateway.... a DVD drive is a DVD drive. Plug that sucker in. The brand of the computer has nothing to do with it. As long as you have a free slot / cable. Most computers have a place for / can handle two optical drives.

Yes you can do it. To put it very simply, just look at which connections it has on the old computer and connect it with those on the new one. Just to be sure though, if you could email me and tell me what drives your computer has now, I could help you a little better on putting it in.
