Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule thsi volume to be checked the next time system restarrts?

And i do yes and i restart and it goes to a screen before i can pick a screen name to log in and looks like its going to but it doesnt work and moves on. i dont know what to do can anyone help?

The problem is that your computer has been shut down improperly and chkdsk has been scheduled to run in order to restore any data that might have been lost or to fix any additional errors with the hard disk drive.

Disk Defragmenter will not run before this is done.

You can try running chdsk from the recovery console

Also try CHKNTFS

When you restart Windows after scheduling Chkdsk, it will run before any programs are loaded. You will have a blue screen that tells you Chkdsk has been scheduled to run, hit any key within (x) seconds to cancel.
If you hit any key before Chkdsk starts, you cancel the operation.
Restart the computer and don't touch the keyboard until Chkdsk is done.

I am not a computer expert. However, I have used chkdsk before. Have you tried to turn the computer completely off and then restart it after 3 minutes? It should start on it's own. That is all that I have to offer. Hope it helps.

Let the computer check disk do not rush it, it takes time to finish that. if it did not work start press f8 start with last good boot, when you boot up restore your computer to a previous date.
