Yes, but not the other way around. You can't write dvd with cd writer.

If u get at the same time as u write 0.5 or something to the dvd-rw???? now and again writing section by technique of section supplies issues. rather write finished dvd & finalise disc. U could also truy CDBURNERXP, its loose & basic. when you consider that ur using dvd-rw, do an finished or quick erase & write disc quickly & finalise it. Why u use dvd-rw, use dvd-r, they r low priced & supplies no subject.

as far as ive seen dvd witers also write cds, but dont expect to replace your dvds with cds, that doesnt work so well.

dvd players always play cds because they are backwards compatable, and likewise the same is true of recorders.
