It's not enough that I understand Biology vocab, but to truly excel, I realize that I need to actually UNDERSTAND biological processes. Now, taking notes from the textbook never helps me - it's like re-copying the textbook (the textbook I use is really condensed, with no BS-fillers). I'm good at math (adv. algebra, trigonometry, pre-calc) and chemistry math, but when it comes down to biological processes that I can't summon up from my own logical reasoning, everything is so full of complex DETAILS which force me to refer back to a word to define what "mitochondria" means or whatever. How can I actually take in this stuff in a few days, because there's a test in two days and I need to be caught up.

I'm not sure you can learn to conceptualize biological processes in a couple of days, but in general the way to learn to "picture" how it works is to get some pictures or models. Ask your instructor if he can provide more resources, or talk to other students in the class and find out if someone can help you understand how things work in a process-related way. Or search around on the Internet some for specific topics, you may find some sites that explain things in a more visual way. Be careful though, not all sites have the right information in them.

My teacher said the best way to understand biology is to read the textbook. Don't just read the words. Pay attention to the text while you reading, so you'll get a better understanding. Also, look and the diagrams and read the title of every section. That may help a bit.

Bio isnt a subject you can learn in 2 days. maybe thats your problem, maybe you need to stop trying to cram the info. in your head. try reading your book slower and read paragraphs/sections more than once if it doesnt seem clear. dont take notes the first time you read, it will only force you to organize what you do know into bullet-point thoughts...which is the opposite of what Bio is...Bio is one fluid inter-connected science. Good luck!
