I need to know because I have a bit of a problem, I was very ill 9th grade and some of 10th so I did poorly those 2 years... I got all 90's junior year and probably this senior yeah but my GPA is still only a 76%... I think that if I write admission essays I definatly have a chance to explain my situation, and if they looked into it the medical records are all there to prove that I had a problem

SUNY Oswego isn't competitive. SUNY Buffalo is moderately competitive. I believe in the SUNY system it's just one application and you check off which schools you want to apply to. Check off a few of them and you'll be sure to get into one of them. You can also call an admissions officer at one and ask which of them are open admission - that is, they accept anyone. You can always go for a couple years and then transfer to a better school.

Also, consider having your doctor write a letter on letterhead that you include in your application as additional information, or maybe add it to your school records so it will get sent to the colleges with your transcript.

Good luck!

yeah

the last two years are what they really look at --if you get a good tudor and/or prep class for the SATs and do FANTASTIC that would really help your chances (hint hint.).

also see if you can get a good book on ways to get into ivy league schools for tips on other things you could do to improve your chances. . .

best of luck to ya!

I don't know about those schools in particular, but do be sure (as you said you would) to explain your poor grades in your essay. Also tell the people who will write your letters of recommendation about it, so they can include it in their letter.
