After having my son, five months ago by c-section, I bleed for over two months. My doctors (both the OBGYN and my primary care) told me not to worry unless large clots - the size of golf balls or larger - show. Bleeding is, according to my physicians, normal after giving birth. However, if it is getting heavier, is coming out clotted, or is a color other than the brownish red that your period normally produces I would get a second opinion.
Good luck. I hope that everything turns out ok.

It could very well be from the Depo. I was on depo years ago and bled everyday for 6 months. It was horrible. They also shouldn't have given it to you so soon after delivering. You're supposed to wait until you heal--at least 6 weeks. I would advise you to NOT use tampons--they will just prolong the bleeding and irritate the area. Use pads as yucky as they are. And don't get that shot again--at least not for a few months. let your hormones readjust.
I'd definitely go to the doctor though--it is not normal to bleed this long after childbirth, especially by c-section.

Check with a regular doctor. I bled after my daughter's birth and almost died. It was due to an infection that could have been prevented. You might have a small tear or some other problem that could be dangerous if unattended. Doctors don't know everything and military doctors are not rewarded for doing extra to help you since it costs the gvt more money. Besides the fact that it's a GUY! LOL But even my midwife blew me off at first until I lost consciousness and couldn't be woken up. Take care of yourself PLEASE. Don't let the doctors blow you off. Good luck honey.

Wow that sounds a little crazy but I had vaginal deliveries with both my children. After each I bled for about 4 or 5 weeks but it definitely got darker and it stopped soon after. If you are really worried I would go in and make them check you. It wouldn't do any harm. I know how the military is with medical issues though, good luck darlin

I took the depo shot for 5 years. I stopped having a period at all. I'm sure that its different for everyone. If you feel there is something wrong ask your doctor to check you. If nothing else It'll make you feel better.

I almost died from Toxic Shock Syndrome from using tampons after I had my daughter. Last rights and all! Depo is great, if your doctor isn't addressing, get a new one! Doesn't sound remotely "normal". You can't mess around with tampons and the risk of getting bad blood in your bloodstream.
Best of luck to you.

My guess would be it's the depo shot. I took the shot one time and bled for almost 4 months non-stop. I finally had to go back to the GYN and get pills to make me stop bleeding.

I would say that if it keeps bleeding for much longer you could always go to the ER, if he is active duty as long as you call tri-care it will be free. If you think there could be something wrong go listen to your instincts. My husband is in the military and I know on base medical is not the best.
