My flute on its left hand second and third key is discolored, as if the silver itself is rubbing off. I have one more week of marching band left and im afraid it might be the rain. Do you think it's worth taking in and having it looked at, i mean its not disrupting my playing.

Many flutes are plated, obviously. After much use, the plating wears off and that's all there is to it. Some players think this looks cool, because it proves how much you actually played the thing. If you don't like it, maybe it is possible to have it replated.

What is showing underneath the metal? If the keys are made of plastic (which would be very strange) than you should have it looked at. But if it's not disrupting your playing, then wait until after the season is over.

What I would do (I am a band geek too) is show it to my band director, because he/she should know what it is and he/she will tell you if you need to have it looked at DO NOT WAIT! Trust me! It may be something serious

I'd say wait until you're done with marching band and then take it in.
