No it isn't a dumb question...It's a pretty good one. Studies show that when you say something to somebody for example "you're fat" or anything of that nature, and you say you mean it as a joke, 75% of the time it is actually isn't a joke. It was an old study and I don't know how they came up with the figure but, hey atleast there's somewhat of an answer. :)

Only justification for lying is to spare someone , in the moment. Example: "No, You're not going to die." (scene of a bad accident)

sometimes.... when i make a job(like the time i got on a new sn and talked to my big sis.... as her OLD camp buddy she didnt remeber..... well when she was about to sign off i told her it was me and she saids i was SOOOOOOO lying when it was only i joke
