So ever since it's gotten colder outside and warmer in my place, the fan seems to continiously run on and off every couple of minutes. My question would be, is this normal or what?? It really isn't even that warm in my apartment. The only thing I can say "might" be a reason is that it sits next to the A/C. Would this somehow screw with the temp inside the computer?? Like I said, it's not hot in here and this is something that has just started this past summer. I had this computer for almost 1 1/2 years now and was brand new. If any new details are needed, I will provide it. Also, I can stop the fan by putting it into standby mode.

Your computer probably just needs to be cleaned out. You probably have dust bunnies in your cooling fins on your CPU.

Get a can of compressed air and blow off all your cards inside.

I wouldn't go by how warm or cool YOU feel...the key point is how warm your CPU chip is running. Over the one and a half years you've owned the pc, you probably have installed utilities and programs that run in the background. The more work the CPU is doing regularly, the warmer that chip is going to be. The fan running more often may be due to the chip needing additional cooling. There are a couple of things you can do to check things out...first, try using the MSCONFIG utility to see what processes are starting automatically as start-up programs. You may be able to lessen the load by disabling some of them, such as things like RealPlayer update, etc. (Only disable one thing at a time, then reboot, and make sure your pc is working alright. If not, re-enable it again). Also, try opening your case and carefully blowing out the dust around your CPU and the rest of the components in the case, and make sure your fans are spinning freely. Good luck.

Two things, one clean it with some static from equipment and make sure that there is no moisture in the system. If so then you need to let it dry and get a new fan. If not, then it could either be that the fan is going out or the computer is controlling the fan, turning it on and off as needed to keep the system at an optimal temp.

If your computer hangs or reboots while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yk5zpr
