This is one stubborn "diaper rash" and looks like acne. Caldesene, Balmex or Desitin do not work. Any cause for alarm? She is not fussy during changings or clean up.

First, you should ask your pediatrician or doctor. A friend's baby had "thrush" which I think is a yeast infection on babies. It is similar to a rash. It was reddish and splotchy. You need to take the baby to a doctor to get the correct medication, if needed. Babies can be allergic to adult medications. There are other problems that can cause rashes. You need to seek medical help from a physician for your baby. medical advice should always come from a real doctor.

A yeast infection rash looks very red and sore, with darker red spots that look like they're about to bleed....the poor thing:(. I would also check inside her mouth, if you see little white spots inside her mouth, it could be thrush, which is also a yeast infection. Doctor would most likely prescribe a Canesten cream mix. If it's not a yeast infection, then zinc oxide may help, or even plain old vaseline. Good Luck!

My daughter just got over a yeast infection and it looks like a REALLY bad diaper rash. Its bright red instead of pink. It didn't bother her for a couple days and I was treating it like I would a diaper rash but then she started putting her hands down there and rubbing when I would take off her diaper. Her pediatrician said to use Lotrimin AF. Sounds weird because it is an anti fungal medicine for jock itch and athletes foot but I put it on 3x a day and it was drastically better in about 3 days.

It could be a yeast. Sometimes babies will develop one from having a wet diaper (from the moisture in the diaper being in so close contact to the skin). There can be a whitish film on the diaper area and a small amount of odor and redness of the skin. It will be mostly in the folds of skin like in the creases of the legs, under the scrotum or in the vaginal folds. i would take your baby to a doctor or pediatrician to see what it actually is. rashes in the diaper area can be difficult to get rid off because of the moisture in the diaper when it is wet. in the mean time, change the diaper often, with every wetting, clean area well and let air dry before putting a diaper back on. another consideration is allergic reaction to the diaper. if its still not getting better, go and see your medical provider. hope my answers were helpful.

Use plain dannon yogurt. Put it on the baby and leave it for a few mintues (with diaper open or enough to catch pee). wipe clean after 5-10 minutes. Do this a couple of times a day. If it gets better, then it's yeast. DANNON PLAIN is what to use..nothing else.

Ask the pediatrician. It is extremely unlikely that an infant would have a yeast infection. It could be eczema.

Has your baby taken antibiotics in the past few weeks? It is very common for babies to get yeast infections after taking them...in baby boys the rash is external and is very red and nothing seems to calm it...Call your doctor and have him perscribe an ointment for your baby

Yes--that's what it looks like. Get OTC Lotrimin and use it under diaper rash ointment 4 times a day--especially before naps or bedtime. And change diapers very frequently, but be careful when wiping not to chafe.
