Spain's version of NY Time's Square countdown takes place in the Plaza del Sol in Madrid. Traditionally we eat a one grape for each stroke of midnight. To make this easier we peel them in advance and take the seeds out. Then a toast with cava (Spanish champagne) After that is when people go out to clubs and discos.

Well if you really want something different,go to lagos. This is the most southerly part of spain.Won't be cheap, but well worth the little bit extra. Now if you want something more wild valencia or barcelona, will be partying. That said spain is a big country and almost any large town or city will be thriving.Wise to check the weather as this is winter-time
