Hey, "Lifetimefamily", I agree that a lot of Democrats are or have been military, cops, sportsmen and NRA members. My point is that VERY few of the 4,000,000 NRA members in America agree with the many attempts by the Democrat party leadership to reclassify legal firearms owned by law-abiding citizens, by calling them assault weapons when they are not. Their proposed "points system" tried to reclassify any weapon with a bayonet lug and a threaded muzzle, or a ten round magazine. This could have outlawed the 1896 Swedish Mauser rifle and the old British Enfields, both favorites of hunters, target shooters and collectors. Next up is an attempt to limit magazine capacity to six rounds, thus outlawing not only the SKS, but maybe even the beloved Garand M-1, with its 8-round clip. Have you ever heard of an M-1 being used in a crime?

Why would they want any NRA members there? Democrats think that by banning guns you can solve the crime problems this country has.

As an active Democrat I don't see this as a burning issue with us. With the threats at schools and terrorism, we are getting carry permits at the same rate as everyone else. If I saw Osama Bin Laden, I wouldn't call Bush first. I would call my neighbor who bags a deer every year! I'm telling you the truth, Democrats have a new attitude about guns and control. I am proud of the NRA!

Good question! I thought Dems valued "diversity" (i.e., a multicultural elite composed of dark skin colors and women).

OK first and foremost, allot of democrats are ex or retired military and card carrying NRA members. once again the GOP Slander said that the Democrats are for this and you believe, the only guns that were in question were assault rifles because they were being used to kill cops! once again i wish to point out....Get an education or serve your country...either way you will learn!

democrats and republicans are both just monikers for brainwashed people. I wouldnt dare label myself as one. Im an independent. I KNOW things that most don't know because I read, not the mainstream media. I fully support the NRA because I KNOW that both the neocons and the liberals want to strip us of our means of defending ourselves against their police state.
