Right click on desktop and choose "properties" then "settings". Move the arrow to 1024x768 and I think that will solve your problem.
Good Luck

Make sure you are out of safe mode. It sounds like you just need to change the screen resolution. Right-click in the middle of your desktop (not over an icon!) and select Properties. Click the Settings Tab and adjust your resolution. If this doesn't work then you will need to adjust alot more settings. Respond back if this is so since you will need alot more instructions. Also, make sure there isn't a button on the laptop itself that was accidently pushed that adjusts the font/text size. Some laptops have this. If you are unsure, check your user's manual.

Safe mode has default screen resolution of 640 x480. Right-click on your desktop. Click on properties. Click on the settings tab. Move the slider for screen resolution from 640 x 480 to 800 x 600, or 1028 x 768 etc. to get the size you like.

Simple solution... Right-click on your desktop (or whatever part of it you can see). A menu will appear - click on "Properties". In this menu, find the tab that says "settings". Click on that. There is a scroll bar under "Screen Resolution". Right now, it's probably set all the way to the left. Make it go all the way to the right... This should resolve your issue.

Safe Mode does enlarge everything and mess up your desktop layout. When you restart, they should return to normal size, however, you will probably have to drag the icons around to where you want them.
If restart doesn't do the job, check your resolution.
right-cl on the desktop
choose Properties
choose Settings
Drag the slider to 1024 x 768.

In help mode the resolution of the monitor is set to 640X480 and hence the feeling of enlargement. If u boot normally, u shud get the original sizes. If not please right click the scree and click properties. Set the font, resolution etc. there.
