If our souls have a beginning then that would mean that they would some day come to an end. But if they do not have a beginning that would mean that they won't have an end, but if they don't have a beginning then why wouldn't we be able to remember anything before this life etc.

We are the "spark" that comes from the original "Fire" who is God.We are like God in quality, in that we are eternal ,full of knowledge, full of bliss; but we are not the same as God in quantity. The soul is considered to be smaller than 1/10,000 th of a tip of hair.It resides in the area of the physical heart. Yet it is the soul that powers the physical body. The proof is seen in the death of the physical body. Without this soul being present, nothing can make the dead body function.Einstein came up with the idea of time being an aspect of physics that can influence reality according to how fast the object is moving.(General Relativity versus Special Relativity). In "The Srimad Bhagavatam",which was written more than five thousand years ago, it is explained that time is actually a subtle aspect of the atom (a quantum object). It it further explained that time is the essence of the material world. None of us who is caught in the material world can transcend it. Yet, in truth, time does not exist.
For the spiritual traveler, regardless of what tradition they embrace, who truly experiences "higher consciousness", understands that there is a reality that goes beyond time and space. The reason that we can even consider the soul being "finite" is testament to the illusion of the material world. As long as we identitfy with the physical body, and think that this bag of blood excrement etc is our true identity, then we can think that the soul is finite, because the physical body is finite.Through the practice of spiritual tradtions we begin to cleanse the "mirror in the heart",and when the heart is cleansed of the false identity of the physical body, we can begin to realize our eternal, blissful, true identity, that is not affected by time, nor space.

Interesting question. I would agree that souls either have both a beginning and ending,or are infinite. I believe if they are infinite, they would have memories dating back through time. But how many people do you know are that in tune with their subconscious? Perhaps reincarnation is a fact. There have been some amazing stories which makes one wonder. So souls might have the memory of which you speak. But it's in a file our conscious mind can't access.

If you follow the common argument that God shows us eternal principles through nature (i.e. the animals don't kill, animals can't be gay theory) then you have to find out if there is anything that exists forever. Even the universe had a beginning and eventually it will either freeze into place, atoms too far apart to expand any more, or it will shrink back into a singularity again and another big bang will happen. Both of these theories show the universe as ending though and there is nothing on Earth that does not end eventually.

I believe our souls are infinite and eternal... I know that we were spirits without bodies in our pre-existence life... and that now as human beings with bodies our spirits are in the second stage of life as we know it on this earth. When we die, our spirits still live on and at some future point, will reunite with our bodies...being in a resurrected perfect form. The reason we do not remember anything before this life is because we were given a gift called agency,.... and thus we had to have a "forgetfulness" of our pre- earth life so that we could choose for ourselves. If we could remember that past life, we wouldn't have to make choices or ever make mistakes... we would know all things and there would be no test or challenge in this life... there would be no purpose here except to gain the earthly body.

souls are infinite because they are energy things can have segmented beginnings and ends without it being an infinite end like water it rains and then it stops but its still there and always will be well untill the sun collides with the planet then i suppose it will turn into water vapor and float around in space but even then its still there =D so i think we are something entirely different than infinite but we are certainly not finite we continue and you cna remember past lives just sit down and relax close your eyes and focus on your last life sometimes memorys can be triggered by things happening in your life (like someone recovering from amnesia they remember things sometimes when presented with something that holds powerful feelings or worth for them) so there a philosophical answer for your philosophical question =D Deez

The soul which is given from God at birth is infinite. A persons soul will live forever either in a state of eternal happiness through "justification" with God through Jesus Christ or in eternal spiritual death which is a conscious state of regret and soul torment. If a person ends up in eternity on the wrong side of the "redemption" which has already been paid for it is the "fault" of the individual. God has "provided" and all that man has to do is accept that provision. John 3:36. It is the responsibility of the individual to accept Gods perfect will and be "saved".

Souls don't come to an end, they pass on. Ever hear of the saying, " She / he is with us in spirit. " Same concept. Like " passing on " certain geneological traits, humans are capable of remembrance- when you think about, it's quite controversial. Some people believe in talents they have never done before and wonder where they come from, hence the phrase, "past life."
It's a form of cosmic energy, so to speak- like when we see tiny particles floating in the air- that could be someone's soul. How's that sound to you?

Ultimately it would have a beginning (you'd know if you didn't). To be infinite is to be utterly simple, outside space & time (God). Anything else is finite. That being said, after the resurrection we'll become somthing different, and exist indefinitely. Seems like a paradox, but in Christ we're incorporated into the Godhead.

All That Is within ALL of creation is temporary, finite and always changing, transforming. Source, the origin of thought-seed, form-creations of all kind and in all dimensions, is permanence. There is a saying: "I know not of soul in me!" That is honesty, so hard to find in the dogma and creeds of religion, etc. In fact, the very simple and honest, "I know not," is the door opener to much greater intuitive understanding and esoteric wisdom. Try that in the future.
