You could probably get around the harrasment issue if you don't do it more than once.

I would say so, if your intentionally doing that for no purpose it would probably be considered Harassment in most jurisdictions.

I live in Edmonton. A few years ago, some guy shone his laser pointer at Air 1 (police helicopter). They tracked him down and arrested him (can't remember what the charge was - maybe reckless endangerment). Sorry, but I don't know if he was ever convicted.

I am pretty sure that use of laser pointer is illegal and dangerous. If u point a laser, police can shoot u. I believe, its o.k during lecture.

Depends on where you live. It is indeed illegal in some places! Look for statutes such as "terroristic threats" and the like.
