I have heard so much about how high school is amazing, but yet I have heard so much about how high school is horrible, and as someone going into high school soon I want to know which one it is and how to survive it.

It depends on what you make of it. Find something you enjoy doing (band, orchestra, debate team) and do that as well as concentrate on your studies. Do your best and enjoy the experience.

Best wishes.

In high school there are ups and downs if its not one thing its another and as a freshman you have to worry about not knowing exactly what your doing or where your going but when you become a sophomore its like you know your way and you've already established friends to me your junior year is the best the only thing you have to worry about is standardized test you have to pass in order to graduate then you senior year people say all you have to do is show up no that's the most expensive year of all and your parents will be expecting you to be able to do alot more stuff on your own. As far as it being amazing and terrible school is school is something you HAVE to do so I'm sure you'll live I'm not going to tell you its this great experience because high school is what you make it if you go in with the attitude that this is going to be amazing then it will be. All I have left to say is just try to make it good because when its over its like what am I going to do now? College on the other hand I dont know how that's going to be because I'm a senior and high school and I'm still worried about that my self!

For myself I don't know how it could be considered Amazing?! Amazing is being on top of a mountain, or seeing the ocean for the first time, seeing the whales etc.
High school is what it is.
Just another step in education that you need to make the best of.
To me it is also the hardest one.
I ended up quitting.
I wanted to get out in the world to work so I could have money and explore life.
Now I wish I had stayed in school.
I Kick myself in the rear all the time.

It is what you make of it-- and also depends on your circumstances. However-- and this is the important part-- it doesn't matter. High school is NOTHING like real life. Whether you're king of the school or a slug on the bottom of the king's shoe, it doesn't matter in the whole scheme of things. The geeks end up getting the good jobs and the jocks end up selling cars. The cheerleaders end up married to car salesmen--- make your choices carefully.

Try to get something out of it and make plans for the next level. College is closer to real life. Don't get too caught up in the status stuff-- that can be a huge distraction and can lead to frustration.

Good luck

It will be both... sometimes horrible.. sometimes AMAZING! You have to make it amazing. I was bullied by 3 girls who made my life miserable.. but then... a girl who was held back for two years from another school was put into my class... she was also gorgeous beyond belief.. she stepped in, took me under her wing and introduced me to the Seniors who all wanted to take her out! I'll never forget her kindness and friendship... I became (I'm old now so pardon the expression) "cool" over night. I wish I knew where she was now and how she is doing. Be kind to others, work hard on your lessons... be yourself... and it will be the best time of your life.. next step is paying your own bills... and that sucks!

I think the difference is whether you are among the "popular" students or not. I was not, so high school was a bad time for me. I was the brunt of cruel jokes and pranks.

I was invited to the prom by a popular junior that I had a crush on. Dozens of students knew about it (he told them), and many saw me buying my gown and getting my hair done. Guess what? He never showed and when I called his house to find out where he was, his father told me that he went to the prom with his girlfriend. Monday morning was filled with cruel comments and remarks by students who were in on the prank. Eventually, I ended up dropping out of high school.

relies upon what type of highschool you visit. some are exciting, some are no longer (*cough* catholic college *cough cough*) Umm, yet absolutely everyone tries to be cool, which gets stressful after awhile. You socialize lots in intense college nonetheless, and training won't be first to many pupils. it is all with reference to the events, boys/ladies, drama, and the it is coaching. absolutely everyone talks approximately absolutely everyone, including your acquaintances. activities are a great deal in intense college, or atleast they attempt to make it like that. At my college, the main widely used activities are basketball and music (we've not got soccer, yet that would've been on authentic too). some adult males even commit their lives to basketball, it is ridiculous... it is the way it is to me.

It all depends on where your focus is and who you hang out with.

My personal experience was amazing! (Amazing that I actually graduated, that is. I spent my freshman and sophomore years screwing around at my first high school. Then I moved to another community and redeemed myself academically.)

Best of luck to you, however!

Amazingly horrible. If it is alot of fun, good. If the rest of your life pales in comparison to the fun you have in high school, I feel sorry for you.
