We all know that Bush has severely damaged the Republican party, and that is a certanty that a Democrat will take back the white house in '08.
But my question is, do you think Bush has damaged the party beyond repair??
I think it's a deffinite possibility.

Wooow... that's the ONLY thing I may be grateful to that murderer for... I sure hope he did leave some irreparable damage because if I have to live another four years under the idiocy of a repub jackoff, I swear I'll hire a hitman.

Wrong on both counts. Bush has not damaged the party and the '08 election is very much up for grabs.

The wonderful thing about the Republican Party is that it welcomes all people with conservative ideologies. You don't have to "drink the Kool Aid" to be a Republican.

The Democrats, on the other hand, try to be all things to all people and end up standing for nothing. Everything is relative; there are no absolutes...except abortion. You can say whatever you want but you can't be a good Democrat unless you are pro-abortion. Dems have no ideas, only hatred and vitriol.

wishful thinking. The US is basically a center-right country. The only two Democratic presidents since 1969, Carter and Clinton, had to package themselves as centrists to close the sale with the electorate.

It's basically a 50/50 nation... Dems and Reps. Has been for a long time. Probably will be for a long time. Sure... Dems may retake Congress and the presidency, but I don't see an ideological tidal change anytime soon. Lots of scrimmaging around the 50 yard line.

No one person can damage half of America beyond repair. The 2008 elections will hinge on the candidates and the issues of 2008, and no one knows for certain at this time who or what they will be. If Republican Bill Frist M.D. is nominated, he'll naturally have the support of the American Medical Association, the most powerful lobby in America, so all the present liberal complaining about "Big Oil" may not have any bearing on the elections at all. Frist is squeaky clean, so how will the liberals try to stop him?

Anyone who's watched the Republican party over the years would date the big change in the GOP philosophy to the "Reagan Revolution". That's when Falwell and company got to influence the party's platform on issues such as abortion. As for W., he's done a lot of damage to the nation...let alone the Republican party. I don't think it's a given that the Democrats will win in '08 (they need a viable candidate first, and that would be ???????). But someday, the Republicans will have to wake up and realize that the rest of us aren't so far to the right that we're almost bending 'round to the left (National Socialism).

Not at all!

The Democrats favor abortions and gay rights for one thing and millions of American's will not vote for those approving that.

We want someone with Values over this country and that appoint judges that are moral men also.

I know theres thousands of other things to vote for except morals, but we can already look back and see how our countries morals have Declined partially because of liberal people in office and liberal judges.

This country was founded by men of faith and God has blessed this country in a mighty way!!

Almost with certainty, but hey what do I know. I only hope it is enough for people to realize it is not just a "party" issue. It is also a people issue. Just because they are Dem. or Rep. does not mean you have to vote for them...... Pick the best one to do the job....... and most likely ..... it won't be a Rep. ....... anyway.

Nope. It's just alittle "wish full thinking" on alot of peoples part. The pendulum of politics swings forth & back. -All you're seeing is the beginning of the swing back (to the left). -And yes, I'm thanking God- too... :)

You are clearly living in your own fantasy world if you think the GOP is going to be dead as a party.
