Im going to get a laptop and those are the popular ones and i need it fast.Im getting it in 2007 it October 2006 where i live

Dell stinks. HP is pretty good. My choice is Toshiba. You can find Toshiba at Wal-Mart, Staples and many other popular stores.

I have an HP and it has many problems many which I cannot fix myself I would say dell because my cousing has had a dell for 10 years and it still comes on fast and works with everything except his ipod but other than that it's fast and hasn't any problems and I use it more than him it's only has problems with viruses but what computer doesn't besides a something from the mac company? Heres your answer either way things are meant to break and I wouldn't go with hp since it's made by ford because they put homosexual ads in gaming magazines that teens and other people look at so get a dell.

Dell maybe better overall, but HP has more of the restore and recovery option that dell doesn't. So if you don't know how to keep your Computer up to date with the Window, anti-virus, anti-spyware, spam filters go with the HP it easier to recover and fix. Now if you know what you are doing like how to re-install Window Operating System from the disk go with the Dell. But since your asking the Question you would be better off with the HP>>>>>>
Sounds like Pammi has Spyware problem with her HP.

I have both Dell and HP laptops and I'm pretty sure Dell is better because my HP freeze and shut down itself a lot. Yes, they both have the same memory and no, I didn't set it to auto-shutdown. So, get Dell. =)
Addition: honey, I don't go on the internet on my HP it's only for work because it has better words program... hehe =)

dell is better.dell makes more customizable laptops and goes beyond anything hp could do.
hp modifies older parts to work with newer components.this causes slow computers and problems later on with upgrades.
dell always takes my calls .hp is harder to talk to.Dell came to my house. hp won't do that.All my local computer shops are reps for dell repairs. not hp.

Dell....HP most specializes in printers and I think Dell has the better tech support system

They're essentially the same. Check both of their lines and pick the model (as opposed to brand) that has the features you want.
Or get a Macintosh.

I prefer Dell ... Reliable, dependable and pretty good service when / if something goes wrong.
