I cannot so much recommend a "good" one, but I can steer you away from a "bad" one. I don't suggest getting your CDL while training at "USA Truck Inc." I worked there as a fleet manager and they don't have any employee's best interest at heart. Depending on what you want to accomplish wage wise and regarding "home-time" I would say check locally for a "mid-major" company and see about getting your training and start there. Then once you have the experience under your belt you can try to get on at a well established company like ABF, England, or J.B. Hunt. I would say ABF is by far the best, but it is hard to get on there. =) Good luck and any more questions shoot them my way.

theres alot of them willing to train you if you agree to stay with them a year. j.b. hunt-- schneider-- swift are common carriers around here. most start at 32 to 40 cents a mile. a good driver can earn about $3,200 a month. be gone for several weeks-- sleep in a smelly diesel-- eat at greasy spoons-- use porta potty in emergency (lol)-- i could go on but that would spoil it-- ex driver 20 plus years
