I don't know what kind of phone you have, but on a RAZR, you do this:

Push and hold the right hand button until you get a pictyure of a microphone and the cue "Press OK to start recording."

Your source material will have to be fairly loud.

Press OK and start recording. Press Stop (the same button) when you are done.

Press Save.

It will say "Audio Saved."

Press the Menu button

Press left twice to the Get It Now menu

Choose 1. Get Tunes and Tones

Your new recording will be near the bottom of the list with an archaic title that is actually the date and time recorded. 12:25 on 10-9-2006 will appear as 100906_12251.

Scroll to your new recording.

Choose Options

Decide if you want to rename the tone and do so or just choose "Set as Ringtone" and you're done.

if you have the songs on your computer, then go to the site below and register. They convert audio files on your computer into ringtones for free. I love it & use it all the time. I just hate the wait though.
