I am going into business for myself. I am a hairdresser and I have the oppurtunity to rent a room in a skin care facility and have like a one man salon, I am just not sure about a few things. Should I name my salon or should I just put the name of the skin care clinic on everything. I am just not sure how that works as far as paying my taxes and having a business banking account and all of that stuff, any advice?

make the skin care clinic pay you for putting their name on everything, cause that counts as advertising.

Get a Federal Tax ID # free from IRS Website... should take about one week.. then, get the business bank account.. and get quickbooks to manage your finances or a CPA. Give your business it's own unique name...Call it the One Man Salon! LOL!

make sure you either use your own name or file a DBA (doing business as) it is simple! Trademarks are only about 15 bucks for ten years. File it with the secretaty of state office in your state.

You have to go to the county office and get a permit,That gives you your tax id number. You should have a name and will need a name to get your business permit. As for names i will give you the one i didn't choose. Bladez , you know like blades, the z gives it a little more spunk.
