Cases of insist? That sounds horrible.

I believe the word you wish to use is "incest", referring to sexual relationships between closely-related people. There was no law against incestous relationships before the appearing of Moses and the Decalogue. Is that what you are talking about? Once the law was established, it was no longer "ok".

Pornography does not appear in the Bible. Plenty of sin, however, does. It is a historical record of several people's lives, after all, as well as a transcript of some of those person's interactions with God. People sin. Sin is an ugly thing. The way to deal with such ugliness is not to pretend it doesn't exist--it has to be brought into the light.

The Bible has a great deal of material available for reading to your children. If you aren't comfortable reading about sexual sin to your 7 year old, by all means, don't do it. Wait until he or she has the maturity to handle such material before introducing it, just as you would with a textbook. Use wisdom, not blank censorship.

I am very curious have YOU ever read the Bible YOURSELF? Have YOU ever studied and fully comprehend what the Bible is teaching? First of all, do YOU even believe in God? Can YOU back up with scripture what YOU are referring to, and do YOU really understand what the scripture is saying? If YOUR answer is no to even one of these questions, then your statement/question holds no merit. Meaning you should not comment or make statements on things you do not fully know what you are talking about or fully understand. Make sure when you read something, especially the Bible, you are reading the whole chapter and not one verse here and there.

please I hope you truly do not believe in the question you have ask. Our children should be taught about all cultures and their beliefs. The bible makes some references to incest and homosexual that is why he turned two cities and it citizens to salt.If you hide information from children you leave them vulnerable. DO I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE SHOVED IN THEIR FACE NO I DO NOT. Why would you think if they read the bible it would have a bad effect on them? Have you not read the bible?
Before you ask a question like this you need to understand your own question or how it comes across. I was shocked when I read your question. You question reads as someone who can not read or write and it appears that you have never read any part of the bible. I hope I am wrong and you are not as your question appears

ummm dunno about pornography.... but i personally will only teach my children that the bible exists and is the supporting text to christianity. Same as the other "texts" which belong the different religions of the world. I believe in the Old Ways n will be teaching my children to respect and protect the Earth as Mother Earth nutures n protects us. U can believe whateva the hell u want about what might happen to u after ur body dies but i'm more interested in preserving where we live in this life so the next one is not a misery spent on a desolate waste land!

The soul will always stay alive, and life will never end. The pain that we feel when we die will stay with us forever. Unlike our current state of existence, the afterlife is filled with people feeling continuous pain when they wake-up. Also, life itself is a dream that seems real, but it is not. We are all dreaming. I just wish I could wake up. This all does seem real, however. There are three phases of reality. The real reality, which I am not in, and the dream state of the real reality. The false state is what we are in and it is not real. It seems quite real, doesn’t it? Currently we are being deceived. Rene Descartes was close in his hypothesis many years back, but he left out the most vital aspect for his argument. Life is a dream. Nothing is real.

The bible gives scenarios and experiences from others' lives and times that we may learn from them and not repeat those mistakes. Incest and pornography are condemed in the Bible. I ask you to please read the verse in context with the entire book of the bible in which you found the verse you disapprove of. Finally I would urge you that a real devistating influence is MTV, which promotes sexual promiscuity, drug use, and gang behavior. Protect your children from that, teach them from the bible which promotes love, honesty, kindness, humility, integrity, trustworthiness, and giving.

"and Onan went unto his neighbors wife and spilled the seed...." The bible is a book about life, it's trials and tribulations. Today a child of any age can read these things in many books, watch a movie, see it on television or browse it on the internet. The bible always takes these thing and puts it in perspective. "...so God slew him" In context the horrific nature of certain acts was left to the perspective of the reader, perhaps as a matter of testing the reader themselves, faith and resolve.

Just because something is in the Bible doesn't mean that it's right. In the old testament mainly. It is just about the history of the Jews, it's not saying that everything written in it is right. The new testament though I would say that everything is true because it's telling you how to live and not telling the history. And just because you don't see where they were punished doesn't mean that they weren't. Trust me unless they repented they were punished for their sins.

You are out of your mind! That is not going to have any "really bad effect on their behaiver"! For one, it doesn't describe the situations, and two, there's a very serious message involved!
