My period is usually around 24-29 or so days apart (it can vary from month to month sometimes). My bf has this idea in his head that when I'm ovulating, my vagina feels hotter (as in a raise in temperature... I don't mean this in a perverted sense). I tried researching it online and found nothing. When a woman is ovulating, will her body temperature (day temp, not morning basal) actually rise or is it in his head?

It is not in his head. You have a drop in temp when you ovulate and then right after your temp will rise and stay up. Your temp will drop back down just before you get your period, if it doesn't...there is a good chance you are pregnant.

Kelley is absolutely correct, having done the basal body temps myself. Your temp will be higher, all day, every day, until it's time for your period to come. Women also don't have the normal 98.6 temp. For example, my normal temp is 97.1 but will go up to 98ish when I ovulate. The basal body temp is a good way to keep track for either getting pregnant or trying not to. If not then you'll need to know that sperm can live in the vagina up to 5 days. Hope this helps.
