Separation....divorce, single parents, full time jobs, empty house. It used to be that mom would be having the roast in the oven when the kid is coming home from school, the laundry was cleaned, the house was straightened, and the quesetion came, "How was school today?" Then there were issues that came up and dealt with with a parent sitting at your side to guide you through it. There were the praises when you got an "A" on your math test, and at the dinner table family sat together.
How many kids these days are missing most if not all of that? Who can they go to when they are going through tough hormonal changes? Who is there to give them a healthy meal, a nice hug and those words, "I love you"?
Without these things, how can a human being function happily in society?

I have noticed on TV that this is a huge problem in America in particular..I believe that this is because of the nonrestrictive gun laws and because students are given inadequate help when they are being bullied...my daughter was bullied for a while, although the school had a bullying policy nothing was done to support her. When she told me that a group of girls had threatened to beat her up I told the school counselor. The counselors way to deal with it was to ask the bullies if they had threatened her...when they said no she believed them. It was my daughters word against 5 others...so not only was she being bullied, she was inadvertently accused of lying. In relation to people who aren't students that commit these murders I think that they know that it will reach global news and they also know that students and schools are a soft target..........I was particularly disgusted by the killings at the Amish community.....such peaceful non-violent people....also such graceful people in the face of adversity.

Mary had a little lamb
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went
The lamb was sure to go.
He followed her to school each day
T'wasn't even in the rule
He made the children laugh and play
To have a lamb at school.
And then the rules all changed one day
illegal it became
To bring the Lamb of God to school
Or even speak His name.
Everyday got worse and worse
And days turned into years,
Instead of hearing children laugh
We heard gun shots and tears.
What must we do to stop the crime
That's in our schools today?
Let's let the Lamb come back to school
And teach our kids to pray.
We need the Lamb back?

because children/teens are holding more in, having more anger and adults are doing more to help this. a school i was in had 30,000 dollars donated to them. instead of putting that to use hiring a social worker or a anger management course after school, they bought a new sign for outside.
