Oooh... you and my boyfriend should talk! He too get really p.o'd over this very thing! I try to "analyze" the heck out of it... sometimes people aren't going with the flow of traffic and 5-10 mph over the speed limit just isn't fast enough.....but seriously, I think that it is an attitude of "get out of my way" and intimidation that makes people ride your a**.... it is like they are playing a video game and you are the next dot on their screen... if they can ride your butt and get you to move out of their way, they can move to the "next level." It is annoying for sure! It is sincere belief that many many many accidents we see on the freeway are due to tail-gating... So all I can suggest is that life just isn't worth getting worried over what is going on behind you. If you feel the idiot is endangering your life by riding your a**, go ahead and let the moron get to where he is going in such a hurry. Smile smugly as he passes by and flips you off, knowing that you are at peace with the world and he is going to die a fiery death from a car crash or a really bad ulcer.

Yes, properly, you should move to the right lane. Let them pass -they will get the ticktet before you.
The left lanes are for passing - and if they want to go faster than 5-10 mph on a highway (which most do) ..it's their deal.

Are you in the middle or left lanes? If so, then 5-10 mph over the limit isn't fast enough. Get back in the right lane!

I always slow down when this happens. I go below the speed limit. Either that or I make sure they change lanes so that they get trapped behind a much-slower moving semi truck.
Another method that I use is I make sure I go through a muddy puddle after it rains. It tends to splash mud and water all over their windshield. (I did this once and the guy slowed so he was a mile behind me.)
Tailgaters, beware...!

They probably need to rush to be somewhere on time. A good highway driver notices a car approaching them fast and moves out of the fast lane so they can pass.

Because to them you aren't going fast enough, even if it seems fast to you. It doesn't matter what speed you are going, if you are in someones way you should try to change lanes to get out of their way - not threaten to beat the crap out of them
I should know because i drive a mustang gt and people are always driving slow and won't get out of the way.

Dont let it bother you so much. An ulcer is no fun at all. Try not to look in your rear view mirror so much. There isnt much you can do without getting into trouble.

they are bad drivers, just slow down, let them pass you and let them get out of your life. Road rage is a serious problem and people dont realize how easily it can escalate into violence. Just ignore them, that is the best thing to do.

Hopefully you are driving in the right lane already and can't move over any further. Brake checking is always fun, though.
