With all the talk about "too many immigrants" and this being land that belonged to Native Americans (which includes those from Central and South America)... have you ever considered that all the technology and conveniences that make USA what it is... probably would not be here if not for colonization? What do you think?

Some have misunderstood: I'm not implying that "only Europeans had the brain power"- it's just that Europeans DID build the USA into what it is today.
Starfish, I think YOU need to pick up a book! Start with this one: "How the Scots Invented the Modern World: The True Story of How Western Europe's Poorest Nation Created Our World & Everything in It by Arthur Herman.
http://www.amazon.com/How-Scots-Invented-Modern-World/dp/0609809997/ref=pd_sim_b_1/102-2232892-9008159?ie=UTF8
My question was: if the Native Americans, from South, Central, & North America, had
been left alone- would they still be choosing to live off the land as they had?
Remember that the colonists came from a civilized society into basically a wilderness.
They were enormously outnumbered, once Europeans found this continent. So- would they still be riding horses, shooting buffalo,
making little beads, and all that?

Ken s -- interesting breakdown of possibilities!! :) One comment though: Japan DOES colonize. Its country is so crowded, mostly mountainous, that its people have been spreading out for years.
Check out this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese-Brazilian
Brazil is the host country of the largest Japanese community outside Japan (numbering about 1.3 million).
There are a number of South American countries who have Japanese leaders and large Japanese populations. Read the news from Chile and Peru, for instance.
There is also a large Japanese population in Australia:

http://www.american.edu/TED/japgolf.htm
Japan has few golf courses, due to scarcity of land: it's cheaper to fly to Australia to play golf than to use golf courses there.
The greatest natural resource of Japan is the ingenuity of the people.
I certainly do not underestimate the brain power of other nations and races.
