Yes. Once. Couple of years after my mom died, my phone rang and a message from 2 years ago that she left for me was what I heard when I picked up the phone. Now when a phone rings, the messages on the answering machine is not what comes up. But in this case it did. I am sure it was her from the other side letting me know she is around.

It's funny you ask this, because last week I was thinking about someone who died tragically where I live, and all of a sudden I saw that I had a voicemail on my cell. It didn't ring though, and I had reception in the room where my phone was, I always do... but when I called my voicemail there were no new messages, only old ones I hadn't deleted even if my phone's "new message" symbol was on and was beeping. I tried two more times just to make sure but it was very very strange indeed!

My wife use to make me mad when she would spend so much time on the telephone, so I kept telling her that if she died before me that I was going to bury the with her so she could call me once in a while. Well my kids remembered that when she died and insisted putting her phone in the casket before it was closed. Well she's been gone for over a year now and I'm sorry to say that I haven't received any calls from her yet. I keep my hopes up though.

To be honest, on the evening of 9-11-01, I kept dreaming of phones -- all night long. It was a repeating dream I couldn't get out of. I was going to answer them, I tried to answer them, I actually remembered taking one or two messages. Then I found out the next day that some people when the Towers were falling were trying to call out to their families. I'll still occasionally get a phone dream. It's bizarre.

No, I haven't but ........ my sister in law has been dead for about 8 years now, and the other day I called her husband and he wasn't home so the answering machine picked up. Her voice was still on the machine, and man, what a weird feeling that was. I got chillbumps just listening. And call me sissy if you want, but I had to shed a few tears.

a similar experiance to this is when i was young my girlfriend, myself and my sister went into this abandoned house to investigate etc. and in the corner of the main floor was an old black phone..old.. and as i was staring at it saying look at that phone it rang so loud it sounded like it had speakers. i just kept staring at it as it rang that old awful noise and it felt like i was stuck there being forced to answer it and it really hit home when i realized there were no incoming or outgoing lines..i snapped out of it and ran.come to think of it they also just stood there in the same shock as me..we never really talked about it but just went home..yes this was an old abandoned house ..no power no nothing ..just the ringing.

Great question. I have heard of this however. I love the mans repsonse that he buried his wifes phone with her, I hope she calls.
I have had text messages come back onto my phone that were long since deleted, although the person wasnt deceased.

I have heard about this. It is rare. I have not had it happen to me.

I know someone by friend BoB who had his dead friend show up and meet him one day. It was only after serveral minutes of talking that BoB remembered that this person was supposed to be dead.. they then talked a little about that.

Elisebeth Kubler Ross talks about it in one of her books.

You might want to look into a local "ions" group... we discussed these things.

yes this has happened to me. there was a man i was very close to. he was arrested and sent to prison. i went to go visit him in prison about a month later. he told me that he couldnt stand me seeing him that way. he was going to serve a minimum of 10 years and he didnt want me wasting my life waiting for him. he ordered me to leave, get on with my life, find someone to love and take care of me, and never come back. he also told me that if he ever got out, he would call me as long as i didnt change my phone number. i tearfully did as he asked. i did find someone to love and take care of me, but i never changed my phone number just in case. about 4 years later i got a call at around 9 am. i didnt recognize the number, but answered anyway. there was no sound, but i knew someone was there. i got a very odd feeling, like i knew who was on the other end, then the call dropped. i called the number back, no answer. i tried calling the number back several times with no luck. finally at around noon, someone answered the phone. the number belonged to a bar that my lost love's father owned. the bartender that answered the phone, was a man i had known for years. when i told him it was me, he started telling me how sorry he was, and how he couldnt believe it, etc. i told him i had no idea what he was talking about. he paused for a bit, then told me that my lost love had been killed that morning in a prison yard fight. i was completely speechless. then he asked me why i called. i told him about the early morning call. he swore to me that no one had been in the bar that morning. that he was the first one to arrive & open the bar at noon. i then realized that my love did call me when he got out, one way or another. i will never forget that call for as long as i live.
