That would be very stupid to file bankruptcy over that....IMO.

I think it depends on your state. If you owe a bank or credit union, they will report you to Chexsystems and you won't be able to open a checking account until you pay them off. But, almost anything can go on your bankruptcy except for taxes, student loans and child support. Oh and the person you wrote the bad check to and they bank didn't pay it, can take you to court and you can serve jail time for it. Sorry.

some good answers there....you can definitely go to jail over NSF checks. it's called bank fraud, and it's a federal offense.

well it all depends on how far in the hole you are..if i am not mistaken you hgave to have credit cards and loans and other things totaling in the 1000's to file and with the new bankrupt laws you have a lot of steps to go through and it cost about $1500 to file so you might as well look into it by calling a lawyer
