ie experimenting on monkeys.

(just saw an experiment where they permanently damaged baby monkeys by never giving them comfort or companionship, they showed the monkeys with the devistating effects of isolation while in infancy, permanently disturbed and can be shown no comfort)

Why not just kill them after doing that, eh? How many millions of animals was this done to before they were mercifully put out of their misery?

Nothing is worth experimenting and torturing animals for. Animals are alive just like us with feelings. These experiments really do not prove anything for humans. The animals are not human, so they cannot gain any knowledge of what might happen to a human.

If it saves the lives of people, then yes.
There are certain things that cannot be modeled with current computer methods, although we have come a long way.

I would imagine that if your child or mother were to have cancer or some horrid disease that could have been prevented by scientific research, your opinion would be completely different. If you would prefer your loved one to die in lieu of a few animals... I wouldn't call that something to be proud of.

A lot of research involving animals allows us to live the relatively carefree lives today and allows us to spend time with our loved ones more.

You should probably be more concerned about how animals are treated in the food processing world.

Experimenting with animals is a risk that can be good or bad. Its bad because you can kill innocent animals, but you may end up finding a cure for a disease or something else that is good for science. Though I believe testing on animals is very wrong, many cures and other discoveries have been made to help humans.

I guess that depends on your definition of intelligent. I for one do not feel the human race is so great that we should kill other beings in order to research ways for our mighty race to live longer.

But then again, I would probably change my mind if one of my relatives was saved from a life threatening ailment by the research conducted on other animals.

So in a selfish sense, yes, it is worth it.

I think I saw that. They gave one monkey a doll, and the other nothing. I guess it was a valuble experiment, but I don't see the value in repeating it.

I think that it is hard for some people to deal with things like this because we think that animals feel the same way that humans do about things.

Remember, animals don't love and they don't hate. They are not conscious of a i or id. They simply react to stimuli.

many things are done without much reason. is it a sin for me to be answering this question rather than feeding the people outside my building who starve. probably. with every sin there is some grace, with grace there is some sin. it's hard to say what is right/wrong.

No. I believe our creator curses such abominations, and therefore it would not result in overall benefits.

Absolutely not. It is completely unnecessary.
