I wish you guys had seen him play at the 1998 world cup. He had single-handedly destroyed the Brazilians. For me, Brazil are the god's of football. I think he will always be remembered for the skills he possessed. Why do i suspect that this question has been posed by an Italian :)? For me, he is the best midfielder in the whole world. He and Claude Maklele have to be the best midfield duo to have ever played together.

Zidane wont be remembered for any of those. True soccer fans will remember him for leading his team to the 1998 world cup final and winning, and for leading his team to the European Cup finals and winning too. No true fan will remember him for the headbutting only.

As an absolute magician who did something bizarre at the end of his career. (And probably the real fans would remember that he had done similar things at other times in his career, but they would also remember the miracles he had pulled off.)

if you can't stand for your family name, how can you stand for a country. i was cheering for italians but i still think he did the best thing and i myself as a Dying-as-hell soccer fan will always remember him as the greatest player of 90's and 00's
