there isn't really a definition for marriage to begin with, marriage is the way how 2 people make it the way it is. if 2 people don't work things out then the marriage goes bad, and 2 people who are willing to work on it, then the marriage will last.

I wouldn't REdefine marriage, it works great just the way it's set up currently.

threw many years of mistakes i now know that marriage is not the all fire works and warmth we feel when we first fall in love nor is it a Continuation of the wedding day. marriage is the Union of two people who did the falling in love and when things became hum drum did the work it takes to bring back the love one felt in the first place. marriage does not just happen it is commitment to do and work every day what is needed. love yourself and loving your spouse will become much easier. remember what love is a work of art, so stay the course and become the best artist you can be. only if abuse is taking place do you move on to help yourself and in the long run others also.

Current Definition:
The legal union of a man and woman as husband and wife.
The state of being married; wedlock.
A common-law marriage.
A union between two persons having the customary but usually not the legal force of marriage: a same-sex marriage.

I would define it as: the union between two persons in a loving relationship for the purpose of monogamy or similar practices.

Why should marriage be redefined? If you are married you should be working on refining marriage not redefining it.

well first of all marriage is a total redefinition of how we would like to live life. first question can you stand waking up every morning lookin at the same person and realizing that's what you want? your can you stand knowing that they dont eat thier food right or that they are messy. or they leave thier sock on the floor or that they dont dont put the top back on the toothpaste or they put thier feet on the coffee table can you live with this then ok do it and stop bitching life will be ok stop worrying about the things we cant change

The government should stop issuing marriage licenses. That would solve the "gay marriage" problem...and whole load of other issues.

My wife & I do not believe the government has the authority to tell us who we can marry; hence, we don't have a "license." Marriage should be whatever the couple wants it to be, provided they commit to share their lives in a unique way with each other.

Marriage binds two persons together. Two persons that did not know what they were getting into, and maybe at first they thought they would not make it. But, with time they learned to work out their problems. They learned to communicate. They started to fall in love with the real person, the person they never knew they married.

Marriage involves repeated use of the following words

I love you
I need you
I am sorry

and basically involves "give and take"

However your emotions/ego will stop you from doing these at the right times. If you can conquer your ego and do that, you can have an ideal marriage
